As we all know, Norman Mineta’s testimony was never investigated or mentioned in the 9/11 Report. You would think that the “young man” that was involved in such an important moment during the 9/11 attacks would be named, and brought before the 9/11 Commission. He was not.
This clip is from C-SPAN’s 5/26/2005 taping of the “Washington Journal”. The caller clearly states that at the time the Pentagon was hit, Cheney was aware of the incoming plane according to Norman Mineta’s testimony. At the end of this segment, Lee Hamilton says that Cheney was “in the key position at the time”. Prior to that, he said that “the Vice President was in the operation room”, and “when the impact did occur.” To me, this sounds like Lee Hamilton just confirmed Norman Mineta’s testimony.

The Raw Story: ‘Cover-up’ attempt in offensive costume flap - 9/11 panel vice chair: No record of Mukasey ‘9/11 warning’
The vice chair of the prominent 9/11 Commission is denying Attorney General Michael Mukasey’s claim that the US received a warning before the attacks of Sep. 11, 2001, Salon reports.
“I am unfamiliar with the telephone call that Attorney General Mukasey cited in his appearance in San Francisco on March 27. The 9/11 Commission did not receive any information pertaining to its occurrence,” said former Rep. Lee Hamilton in a statement received by Salon’s Glenn Greenwald, who has closely followed the Mukasey revelation.

Peter Dale Scott: Who Paid the 9/11 Hijackers? Al-Hawsawi? Mahmoud Ahmad?
As I reported in the summer of 2003, US and British newspapers briefly alleged that the paymaster for the 9/11 attacks was a well-known agent of the Pakistani intelligence service ISI, Mohammed Sheikh Saeed. There was even a brief period in which it was alleged that the money had been paid at the direction of the then ISI Chief, General Mahmoud Ahmad.[1]
. . . Mohammed Omar Saeed Sheikh, a notorious kidnapper raised in England, and widely reported as a probable agent of ISI, the Pakistani military intelligence service.[3] . . . he may even have been a double agent, recruited inside al-Qaeda and ISI by the CIA.[4]
Subsequent newspaper stories reported on the undisputed relationship of Saeed to ISI, to FBI claims that he wired $100,000 to Atta’s bank account,[5] to a CNN report that these funds came from Pakistan,[6] and the uncontested statement that “Mustafa Ahmed,” having concluded his 9/11 financial business in Dubai, flew on September 11 to Pakistan.[7]
These alarming charges are ignored in the Report. . . .

Last week, during a question-and-answer session following a speech he delivered San Francisco, Attorney General Michael Mukasey revealed a startling and extremely newsworthy fact. As I wrote last Saturday, Mukasey claimed that, prior to 9/11, the Bush administration was aware of a telephone call being made by an Al Qaeda Terrorist from what he called a “safe house in Afghanistan” into the U.S., but failed to eavesdrop on that call. Some help is needed from readers here to generate the attention for this story that it requires.
In that speech, Mukasey blamed FISA’s warrant requirement for the failure to eavesdrop on that call — an assertion which is, for multiple reasons that I detailed in that post, completely false. He then tearfully claimed that FISA therefore caused the deaths of “three thousand people who went to work that day.” For obvious reasons, the Attorney Geenral’s FISA falsehoods themselves are extremely newsworthy, but it is the story he told about the pre-9/11-planning call from Afghanistan itself that is truly new, and truly extraordinary.
(…)
It’s unacceptable for Hamilton to refuse to comment on Mukasey’s claims. The whole purpose of the 9/11 Commission was to ensure that there was full-scale investigation and disclosure of all facts relevant to the 9/11 attacks, including the Government’s actions and inactions in preventing that attack from occurring.

The Raw Story om Mukasey-saken:
Mukasey hints US had attack warning before 9/11
(…)
Keith Olbermann has now featured the story on MSNBC’s Countdown. “What?” Olbermann asked incredulously after quoting Mukasey. “The government knew about some phone call from a safe house in Afghanistan into the U.S. about 9/11? Before 9/11? … You didn’t do anything about it?”
“Either the attorney general just admitted that the government for which he works is guilty of malfeasant complicity in the 9/11 attacks,” Olbermann commented, “or he’s lying.”
“I’m betting on lying,” concluded Olbermann. “If not, somebody in Congress better put that man under oath right quick.”

Kevin Fenton, Complete 9/11 Timeline: 9/11 Commission, Al-Qaeda in Italy, Hijackers - Additions as of March 30, 2008
New entries this week cover a wide variety of topics. Regarding the 9/11 Commission, members and staff were dismayed by Laurie Mylroie’s Iraq-al-Qaeda potboiler, as was a CIA expert who had the misfortune to sit on the same panel as Mylroie, and the Jersey Girls. Staffers were appalled by executive director Philip Zelikow’s rewriting of a staff statement to imply Iraqi connections to al-Qaeda, and forced him to back down. Zelikow finally accepted the lack of connections between Iraq and al-Qaeda, but Vice President Cheney did not.

Kondensert foredragsversjon av to av kapitlene i boka “The Road to 9/11” (University of California Press, 2007).
Fotnoter finnes i transkriptet/artikkelen under.

“The 9/11 Commission Report is an example of concerted cover-up, partly by omissions, and just as importantly by its cherry-picking of evidence to create impressions that are in fact authoritatively disputed, and in some cases probably not true. There are many examples of cherry-picking and contrived simulations of fact. More importantly, there is a consistent pattern in this: to minimize Cheney’s responsibility for what happened that day.”

Jerry Meldon, Consortiumnews.com: Dr. Hamilton and Mr. Hyde
Former Rep. Lee Hamilton is the Democrat that the Republicans always want to handle one of their touchy national-security investigations because he never pushes too hard. That, however, has left some important questions for Hamilton to answer.
Editor’s Note: Whenever the Republicans have a touchy national-security scandal to put to rest, their favorite Democratic investigator is Lee Hamilton. Over the years, Hamilton has developed a reputation as a very reasonable fellow who knows how far he can go without ruffling too many important feathers.
Hamilton’s carefully honed skill for balancing truth against political comity has elevated him to the status of a Washington Wise Man. In this guest essay, however, Jerry Meldon suggests that attendees at a Tufts conference on the Middle East might want to ask Hamilton about his past compromises with history.

Jon Gold’s Blog: Who Is Sibel Edmonds? With Introduction By 9/11 Family Member Lorie Van Auken
Sibel Edmonds tried her best, to speak with the 9/11 Commissioners regarding the information that she had, which she felt was relevant to the 9/11 investigation. The Commissioners didn’t respond to her, so having heard about us, the 9/11 widows from New Jersey, she contacted us.
(…)
Senators Grassley and Leahy looked into Sibel’s allegations and wrote letters to the Justice Department regarding what Sibel had told them. The letters were made public and it was clear that the Senators considered Sibel’s information to be credible.
Sibel told us that she had taken her story to 60 Minutes. They aired her story.
(…)
Sibel finally met with the Commissioners and gave them lengthy testimony, but in the end the 9/11 Commission didn’t include Sibel’s important testimony in their final report. . . .

“I want to talk tonight about using the 9/11 Report as evidence – evidence of what is being suppressed. We can use it in this way because some parts of the Report are accurate and reliable. This base line of reliability helps define other parts of the Report which are misleading, and in a few places I believe dead wrong. These relevant omissions and deceptions should be taken as clues as to what is being suppressed, and where the hidden truth lies. . . . ” (Emphasis added)

Kean-kommisjonens oppdrag:
About the Commission
The National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States, an independent, bipartisan commission created by congressional legislation and the signature of President George W. Bush in late 2002, is chartered to prepare a full and complete account of the circumstances surrounding the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, including preparedness for and the immediate response to the attacks. The Commission is also mandated to provide recommendations designed to guard against future attacks.
To date, the U.S. government has not been able to determine the origin of the money used for the 9/11 attacks. Ultimately the question is of little practical significance.

While the drug trade was a source of income for the Taliban, it did not serve the same purpose for al Qaeda, and there is no reliable evidence that Bin Laden was involved in or made his money through drug trafficking. (s. 171)
4. oktober 2001 offentliggjorde 10 Downingstreet “The Powell/Blair White Paper” (som legitimerte invasjonen av Afghanistan, men som ikke “purport to provide a prosecutable case against Usama Bin Laden in a court of law.”) hvor følgende kan leses:
Powell/Blair-dossieret utgjør altså “no reliable evidence” ifølge Kean-kommisjonen.
Noen som ser et problem her?
Mer “upålitelig bevis”:
US ’seizes al-Qaeda drugs ship’ (BBC)
A boat containing drugs possibly linked to al-Qaeda has been seized in the Gulf, the US military says.
(…)
Twelve people on board were detained after it was found to be carrying almost two tons of hashish valued at up to $10m, a Centcom statement said.
There were “clear ties” between the shipment and al-Qaeda, it added.

Hence & Widows, Unanswered Questions/Scoop: *** OPEN LETTER with attached Comment from September 11th Advocates (aka “9/11 widows”)***
Tomorrow Philip Shenon’s book, “The Commission” will be released. I forward the Comment just released by September 11th Advocates (the leading 9/11 family members behind the Commission) along with a comment of my own here:
Some of you have yourselves said the 9/11 Report is “not the last word” on what happened. This is no doubt true. Horribly and tragically true. The next question is of course: what are we (or you) going to do about that? Will you address where you fell short or seek to rectify the situation? For starters, the record now shows that a few of you (you know who you are) were responsible for leaving out details of the Tenet/Black meeting with Rice/Clark on July 10 ‘01 and another with Ashcroft on the 18th. And the Commission left out details of the Global Guardian ‘air-war exercises (normally scheduled for October but moved to Sept), Able Danger ID of four of the future hijackers (per 5 credible witnesses), and the revelations of FBI translator Sibel Edmonds - http://www.justacitizen.com/, several of whose allegations had been confirmed by the likes of senior Senators (and others have confirmed more recent claims). Complete 911 Timeline: Newly Released FBI Timeline Reveals New Information about 9/11 Hijackers that Was Ignored by 9/11 Commission

A contributor to the History Commons has obtained a 298-page document entitled Hijackers Timeline (Redacted) from the FBI, subsequent to a Freedom of Information Act request. The document was a major source of information for the 9/11 Commission’s final report. Though the commission cited the timeline 52 times in its report, it failed to include some of the document’s most important material.
The printed document is dated November 14, 2003, but appears to have been compiled in mid-October 2001 (the most recent date mentioned in it is October 22, 2001), when the FBI was just starting to understand the backgrounds of the hijackers, and it contains almost no information from the CIA, NSA, or other agencies. This raises questions as to why the 9/11 Commission relied so heavily on such an early draft for their information about the hijackers.

Larisa Alexandrovna, Raw Story: FBI documents contradict 9/11 Commission report
Newly-released records obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request contradict the 9/11 Commission’s report on the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks and raise fresh questions about the role of Saudi government officials in connection to the hijackers.
The nearly 300 pages of a Federal Bureau of Investigation timeline used by the 9/11 Commission as the basis for many of its findings were acquired through a FOIA request filed by Kevin Fenton, a 26 year old translator from the Czech Republic. The FBI released the 298-page “hijacker timeline” Feb. 4.
The FBI timeline reveals that alleged hijacker Hamza Al-Ghamdi, who was aboard the United Airlines flight which crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center, had booked a future flight to San Francisco. He also had a ticket for a trip from Casablanca to Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
Though referenced repeatedly in the footnotes of the final 9/11 Commission report, the timeline has not previously been made available to the public.

Philip Shenon, author of The Commission: The Uncensored History of the 9/11 Investigation, recently suggested on Democracy Now! that Philip Zelikow, the executive director of the 9/11 Commission, sought to minimize the Bush administration’s responsibility for failing to prevent the September 11th attacks. Shenon also revealed that Karl Rove repeatedly called Zelikow during the probe. In the following interview, Zelikow responds in his first broadcast interview since the publication of Shenon’s book.
